BioSensor's Fingerprint Sensor - FPS

Biosensor’s proprietary fingerprint sensor (FPS) is unique in many ways. The FPS is less than 0.33mm thick and easily integrates into ISO standard multi-application smart cards and other products, such as the newly mandated e-passports. This tiny, low power, pressure based sensor has been shown to be more reliable and secure than capacitance or optical based sensors. Imaging is in 3-D and based on micro-pressure variations across the sensor surface. The sensor is not affected by skin or climatic conditions.

Compelete On-Card Authentication System

Biosensor’s FPS is not only a fingerprint sensor, but a complete onboard fingerprint matching and authentication system. It not only detects and images the applied fingerprint, but it also compares the image to the image file stored in the onboard computer. This comparison is done in milliseconds completely on card and involves proprietary, state of the art encryption and firewalls. No personally identifiable information is provided, only the fact of authentication or rejection.
